The project

A neighbor who knew my work asked me to build a website for his catering business. I created the entire website and its original content, bringing menus, customer reviews and a contact form together in a lightweight static HTML site. The approach kept the code simple and hosting costs low, with room to update the site as the business changed.

Approach

Keeping the build simple

The site needed to introduce the business, show what it offered and give prospective customers a way to get in touch. Static HTML fit that scope. I kept the implementation lightweight while integrating the menus, reviews and inquiry form that customers would use to plan their next step.

Inquiries

Making inquiries practical

To present the business’s bar services, I added a dedicated section and updated the inquiry form so customers could ask about food, bar service or both. When an existing form began returning errors, I replaced it and tested the submission process, confirming with the client that the inquiry arrived.

Maintenance

Keeping the information current

The work continued with menu and review updates, a mobile display fix and refinements to the information on the site. One small change addressed a specific misunderstanding: visitors were reading taproom hours as the catering business’s availability. I removed the fixed hours and linked to the business’s Facebook page for changing taproom information, keeping that separate from catering inquiries.
